ACQUISITION
, NATIONAL GALLERY OF AUSTRALIA,
March 2009
Five more of Benyon's hologram art works have joined the previous two pieces of hers already acquired in 1979 by the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra. Along with the National Gallery Victoria, Melbourne they are possibly the first public art museum anywhere to have begun collecting holographic art with those initial acquisitions, and the NGA is now continuing their pioneer interest and support. The collection also holds a large work by Paula Dawson, and a holographic installation by Shu Min Lin.

ONE MILLION POINTS OF LIGHT  February 2006-today
Launched by British artist Andrew Pepper, this original project allows thousands of groups and individuals to collaborate on the construction of an abstract, online image which does not exist but which can be seen, globally, at any location were there is an internet connection and computer. The colours are sampled from a reflection hologram made by the artist, so that the resulting pattern will be "slightly subdued and based on existing points of light."
